Pasture to Plate Program

Pasture to Plate is a five-session program designed to provide producers, consumers and industry professionals with information to enhance their practices within the beef industry. The program is funded by the Kentucky Ag Development Fund and is provided free-of-charge, although space is limited. This session will focus on purchasing and retaining feeder calves with emphasis on nutrition, health, genetic and financial considerations. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate calves, attend specialist lectures and participate in interactive discussions. Pasture to Plate is held at three locations across Kentucky, with the closest being Eden Shale Farm in Owenton, KY. The Eden Shale kick-off session will be held on April 20, but participants can join the group during the second session, if space is still available. For information or to register, call 633-4593.
